Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during the Russian-Kazakh negotiations noted that relations between Moscow and Astana are at a high level, and huge challenges are ahead for both countries to achieve national development goals.

He thanked the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Sagintayev for the invitation to Astana and the meeting of the governments of the two countries.

“We can talk about our relations for a long time, but it can be said quite briefly. They are at a very high level, we are strategic partners. At the same time, our countries face enormous large-scale tasks,” the Russian prime minister said.

Medvedev noted that his colleague has already mentioned national development goals.

“Indeed, the government is now implementing them. You also have solutions that are associated with new ideas put forward by the president ... and a number of large projects that we are dealing with in our countries,” the premier added.

Medvedev met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev before the talks. On Friday, Medvedev will take part in a meeting of heads of government of the CIS countries.
