The election of President Volodymyr Zelensky creates a new opportunity for peacemaking in Donbas, U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton has informed on Twitter.
Bolton said that he had a meeting with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker, during which they discussed the situation in Ukraine.
“Amb Volker and I met today to discuss Ukraine negotiations and agreed that President Zelenskyy’s election creates new opportunity to push for peace in Donbas – a key step to improving U.S.-Russia relations – but it’s critical that Russia do its part and engage seriously,” the White House advisor wrote on Thursday.
