
























The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) says most of operating banks in Ukraine, or 66 out of 76 solvent banks, posted profit in January-June 2019 (H1), while 10 financial institutions reported loss in the first half of the year.
The most profitable were such solvent banks as PrivatBank (UAH 18.3 billion, or US$719.9 million), Raiffeisen Bank Aval (UAH 2.4 billion, or US$94.4 million), UkrSibbank (UAH 1.5 billion, or US$59 million), PJSC First Ukrainian International Bank/FUIB (UAH 1.3 billion, or US$51.1 million), and OTP Bank (UAH 1.3 billion, or US$51.1 million).
Five banks posted the highest losses: Ukrsotsbank (UAH 473 million/US$18.6 million), Sberbank (UAH 298 million/US$11.7 million), Bank Credit Dnipro (UAH 36 million/US$1.4 million), Misto Bank (UAH 22 million/US$865,460), and Pravex Bank (UAH 20 million/US$786,782). As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's operating banks in January-June 2019 posted UAH 31 billion, or US$1.2 billion, in net profit, which was four times up year-over-year.
