
























Ukraine’s No.1 tennis player Elina Svitolina climbed two positions to the fifth spot in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) updated on August 19.
Svitolina (4,492 points) is ahead of Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic (4,485) and Kiki Bertens from the Netherlands (4,400), Ukrinform reports.
Dayana Yastremska (1,730) dropped one position to the 33rd spot, Lesia Tsurenko (1,337) fell to the 40th position, and Kateryna Kozlova (821) is the 74th.
WTA ranking is headed by Naomi Osaka from Japan (6,606). She is followed by Ashleigh Barty from Australia (6,501), Karolina Pliskova from the Czech Republic (6,315) and Wimbledon winner Simona Halep from Romania (4,743).
