‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’
One of the hottest summer premieres, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” is not a typical Quentin Tarantino film. The picture is a melancholic love ode of the U.S. director to the world of cinematography set in Los Angeles in 1960s. Written by Tarantino himself, the picture mixes a fictional story about fading Western actor Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth with real-life events circling around the horrific murder of U.S. actress Sharon Tate by the Manson Family, a cult led by U.S. criminal Charles Manson. Although it received mixed reviews, the picture is still in talks for multiple prestigious Oscar awards including Best Picture and Best Director. The astonishing performances delivered by Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie have been widely praised by the critics. And Tarantino’s depiction of hippie Hollywood with exceptional music and costumes selection has been recognized as one of a kind. The film will be screened in English with Ukrainian subtitles.
