The new State Tax Service officially started its work on August 28 and informed about the launch of its own web portal.
The relevant government’s resolution as of August 21, 2019, No. 682-r, has been posted on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Head of the State Tax Service Serhiy Verlanov assured that "the new tax service will become a reliable partner for entrepreneurs and will create favorable conditions for doing business in Ukraine, introduce new services and ensure equal rights of all taxpayers," according to the press service of the newly created service.

"We are starting a new stage in our country's tax policy," he said.

As Ukrinform reported, on December 18, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to create the State Tax Service and the State Customs Service by dividing the State Fiscal Service. On March 6, 2019, the government approved resolutions on the creation of the services.

On May 8, 2019, Serhiy Verlanov was appointed as head of the State Tax Service. Previously, he held the position of deputy finance minister.
