In Ukraine, 951 territorial communities have already been formed within the framework of the decentralization reform.
Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Aliona Babak said at the conference "Community for Everyone", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“There are 951 united territorial communities in Ukraine. In addition, 6,572 territorial communities are in the process of transition. There are still more than 10 million people who need to make this way,” Babak said.

The minister added that a map of Ukraine with a community as a basic administrative and territorial unit should be formed next year.

"This is going to happen next year, we need to see the ubiquity of local self-government which would be represented by powerful communities. Those 6,572 communities are actually going to be part of the new united territorial communities next year and we are expected to reach a number of about 1,400 united territorial communities," she added.

Babak stressed that the new Government would certainly continue carrying out the reform of local self-government at the forefront.
