Ukraine and Latvia are committed to active bilateral cooperation in the recovery of assets of former Ukrainian high-ranking officials that were illegally transferred to Latvian banks.
"A separate subject of today's conversation is the funds of criminal origin associated with Ukrainian officials that were transferred to Latvian banks. We are committed to active bilateral cooperation in this matter," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at the joint press conference with President of Latvia Egils Levits, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The President of Ukraine stressed that cooperation concerned the recovery of assets, on which corresponding judgments were delivered, and the search for other assets that could have been illegally withdrawn from Ukraine.

As reported, a court in Latvia ruled to confiscate more than $30 million related to former Ukrainian top officials under the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych.
