Ukraine has expressed gratitude to the United States for approving sanctions against the construction of Nord Stream 2.
“Ukraine is grateful for 337 votes to support sanctions related to Nord Stream 2 construction. This is a political project that undermines energy security of Europe,” the Office of the President of Ukraine posted on Twitter.

It was earlier reported that the U.S. House of Representative backed National Defense Authorization Act for 2020 (NDAA), which provides for sanctions against the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
