The Government of Ukraine is ready to send about 200 specially trained State Emergency Service rescuers to Australia to deal with bushfires, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said.
"The Ukrainian side informed Australia about the readiness of the rescuers to arrive at the scene of the tragedy within 24-36 hours with the needed equipment on a specially chartered long-haul aircraft," Avakov wrote on Facebook.
He notes that Ukraine is awaiting a decision from the Australian side.
As Ukrinform reported, at least 24 people have been killed as bushfires have burned more than 12 million acres in Australia.
