TCG agrees on 19 demining sites and four disengagement areas in Donbas

The Trilateral Contact Group for the Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in Donbas (TCG) at a meeting on September 2 agreed on a framework decision on mine action. In particular, they agreed on 19 demining sites and four disengagement areas in Donbas.
"The Trilateral Contact Group fully agreed on a framework decision on mine action, which will form the basis for future humanitarian demining," the press service of the President’s Office reported.

During the meeting, the coordinates of 19 priority demining sites were agreed. The 20th site near Zolote will be cleared of mines as part of the opening of an additional checkpoint in the area, preliminary scheduled for November this year.

In addition, the parties agreed on the next four areas for the disengagement of forces and hardware.

At the working group on security issues, Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Yaşar Halit Çevik noted that the parties adhere to a full and comprehensive ceasefire. It is noted that Ukraine has completed all the necessary procedures for a new stage of the exchange of prisoners.

In turn, the representative of certain areas of Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine as part of the Ukrainian delegation, Denys Kazansky, urged the negotiators to unblock the process of mutual release of detainees.

The next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group is scheduled for September 16.
