Almost 23 thousand people are staying in Ukrainian medical institutions intended for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this at a press briefing on October 21, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Over the past day, 1,009 people have been hospitalized. As of today’s morning, 22,977 beds are occupied by people. These are people with suspected or confirmed COVID-19,” Stepanov said.

According to him, 318 children and 365 health workers have tested positive for COVID-19 over the course of the past day. Some 141 patients have died. At the same time, 2,686 patients have recovered.

Stepanov also added that Ukraine on October 20 conducted a total of 62,869 coronavirus tests, including 32,729 PCR and 30,140 ELISA tests.

As reported, 315,826 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine as of October 21, including 6,719 cases reported during the previous day.
